In the first instance we apply a rigorous diagnostic which identifies and measures factors impacting on the business.

You will receive a report outlining the current strengths and weaknesses in your business including comparisons with industry benchmarks and standards.

The diagnostic both confirms your assessment of where you are currently while identifying other potential areas of concern and opportunity.

Once the 'Now' is firmly established the 'Where' can be more easily identified. This includes prioritising the issues and developing clear outcomes and measures for going forward.

As the diagram illustrates our Business Improvement Program has two parallel paths.

The left hand side contains the team cycles, which repeat every eight weeks. Typically, we coordinate two project teams (more if required) on a concurrent basis.

Identified impediments to the business are the focus with recommendations to fix developed and implemented.

The teams are coordinated by us and meet on a weekly basis for up to eight weeks after which time new teams are formed with a new brief and the cycle starts again.

This inclusive methodology affords 'buy in' from staff at all levels of the organisation while the eight week limitation ensures each meeting is productive and actions properly timed.

This extra workload on the team requires careful management to ensure the daily imperatives in running the business are not compromised.

Part of our role lies in keeping this balance.

To achieve this strategic focus we coordinate regular review sessions, usually monthly, with the management team to formally review the rate of change occurring while also ensuring strategies surrounding productivity, competitive advantage and performance measurement systems are being developed and implemented.

Change can be daunting, however the skill of the facilitator and the power of the processes used ensure the best strategies are developed and endorsed by all the key stakeholders.
